2024 SBC PASTORS' CONFERENCE

2024 SBC PASTORS' CONFERENCE

ABOUT

A pastor's most important task is to prepare his soul, not his sermon. The duties of ministry can, at times, seem overwhelming.

There are:

  • Sermons to write

  • Prayers to offer

  • Meetings to attend

  • Ministries to oversee

  • Mission opportunities to plan

  • Lessons to prepare

  • Members who need care

  • Guests to welcome, and

  • Unbelievers who need the good news of Christ.

The call to ministry, though, starts with a call unto God and His service.

If pastoral ministry is an intimate call unto a deep and abiding relationship with God, the basis of pastoral ministry begins and ends with God's character lived in and through the life of a pastor.

Ministry positions and service accolades do not define a pastor - a personal and intimate relationship with God does.

A pastor, then, must prioritize his spiritual character above ministerial competencies and charisma if he is to be all the Lord wants him to be and do all the Lord wants him to do. Our Father cares more about who pastors are in Him than what pastors do for Him.

The 2024 Southern Baptist Convention Pastors' Conference will focus on pursuing your mission as Pastors at our two-day conference, June 9-10, 2024, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Southern Baptist pastors, evangelists, and denominational leaders will encourage the hearts and strengthen the souls of attendees as we consider how we are, according to Revelation 17:14, “called, chosen, and faithful.”

Eleven preachers will give expository messages on various aspects of what it means to be called, chosen, and faithful. We will be led in worship by lead artist Charles Billingsley.
